Now is the time to dive into the PADI Open Water Diver course, the most popular dive program in the world! This is your ticket to a lifetime of intense adventure. Throughout the course, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You will also earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification that is recognized worldwide. You earn this rating by completing pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water dives at our private quarry, on a Dive Adventure Trip with us, or on your own vacation.. Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. At some point in the course, your PADI Instructor will ask you to demonstrate the ability to swim 200 yards without swim aids or 300 yards with mask, fins and snorkel and complete a bit of paperwork, to get you on your way. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available. To
get started, all you need to do is stop in to register with a $50
deposit. We will then issue you the PADI Open Water Diver Manual You have three options for your class sessions. One option is our regularly scheduled weekend format with dates listed below. Your first day of class meetings will be devoted to the knowledge and skills you will need to become a safe diver. Our instructors will embellish upon the information you studied in the manual and video at home. You will also take four quizzes and one final exam. The final day of the weekend will be your pool session. Here you will learn and practice the water skills needed to be comfortable in the water. The second option is customized class meetings to fit your personal schedule. Please call us to discuss this option. The third option is the online eLearning. Follow the link below for more information. Once you have completed the first portion you will move on to the "Open Water" portion. During a two day period, you will do two dives each day demonstrating all the skills you learned during the pool session. These dives can be done three different ways, at a private quarry with us, on a dive adventure trip with us, or on a vacation of your own with a referral. At the end of completing your four dives you will be a certified PADI Open Water Diver with a license to fun and adventure!
