Edward Gillen Tug
The tug Edward
Gillen was a 56.5 foot long steam tug out of Milwaukee, WI. On
June 3, 1981, while conducting cable tests with the Coast Guard Cutter the Westwind,
shie capsized and sank. The four crew members abandoned the ship and were
rescued.
Today, the tug sits upright in 73 feet of water about a half
mile northwest of the wreck of the Prins Willem V. |
